Soloists

 

Joelene Griffith, soprano.   Joelene is a committed recitalist and gives regular recitals throughout Sydney and regional New South Wales.  Her recent operatic roles include The Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute (2014, Gertrude Opera) and  Fiordiligi in Cosi fan Tutte (2015, Operantics).  Joelene’s oratorio engagements for 2015 include Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana with Willoughby Symphony Orchestra and The Messiah with Penrith Symphony Orchestra.

 

 

 

Hamish Gould, countertenor.  Hamish has performed as a soloist for Victoria Chorale, Box Hill Chorale and Saint John's Southgate.  He was a finalist in the 3MBS competition, 'The Talent' and received 2nd place in Monash University's Aria and Concerto Competition.  In the Boroondara Eisteddfod he received 1st place in the Oratorio/ Cantata Section and 3rd place in the Robert Salzer Vocal Championship.  He has recently completed his Bachelor of Music and is looking forward to doing his Honours at Monash University.

 

 

 

Michael  Petrucelli,  tenor.  Michael has recently been working as a developing artist with Victorian Opera.  He has performed the roles of Giuseppe  (La Traviata), the Sandman (Hänsel und Gretel), and the White Rabbit (Alice’s Adventures in Opera Land).  He was awarded the Richard Bonynge Study Scholarship at the 2014 Melbourne Opera Bel Canto Masterclass.  Michael has been engaged by Victorian Opera to perform Arturo, in Lucia di Lammermoor and Beppe in Pagliacci in 2016.

 

 

 

Oliver Mann,  baritone.  Oliver's stunning bass-baritone voice has led to many roles with Opera Australia, Victorian Opera and Lyric Opera. He has also gained acclaim for his perfomances of Bach, singing solos in the Magnificat, the St John and St Matthew Passions, and over 10 cantatas in the St Johns Southgate Bach program.  Oliver juggles his opera and classical music career with performances and recordings as a contemporary singer-songwriter, informed by his love of singing and his superb vocal technique.
