Victoria Chorale
Victoria Chorale inspires and delights choristers and audiences with wonderful choral concerts performed with great flair.
Highlights of recent performances with the vibrant Art of Sound Orchestra include the Sir Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace, the remarkable Mozart vs Salieri program at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Brahms Requiem and Alto Rhapsody, Mozart’s Requiem and Great Mass, Carmina Burana and the Faure Requiem. The choir also performs music by contemporary Australian and NZ composers such as Barry Conyngham, Andrew Perkins, Andrian Pertout, Sarah Hopkins and Barry McKimm.

The choir has developed and grown greatly under the dynamic leadership of its conductor, Dr Mario Dobernig. Victoria Chorale choristers travel from all over Melbourne to sing with the choir. The choir regularly performs at CBD venues such as St Paul’s Cathedral and Collins St Baptist Church, and a number of venues in inner Melbourne. In 2019 the choir travelled to Europe, singing in St Stephens Cathedral (Vienna), the Bratislava Cultural Summer Festival and in Graz, Kapfenberg and St Margarethen (Austria). Planning for another tour in 2026 has commenced.
Victoria Chorale was founded in 1993 by the late Val J Pyers OAM. Over the past three decades it has built a well-earned reputation for the excellence, diversity and warmth of its performances and the camaraderie amongst the choir members.
