Summary of key Covid-Safe Arrangements
(Check your emails for the latest version!)
1. Covid is still around! Victoria Chorale follows the recommendations of the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI). This risk management helps protect both choristers and our accompanists and minimises the risk of Covid related absences disrupting our concerts. As at November 2024, ATAGI is recommending that:
persons aged 75 and over should have a booster every 6 months
persons aged 65 to 74 have a booster every 12 months (with a more frequent booster every 6 months based on risk/benefit assessment with your doctor)
persons aged under 65, consider a booster every 12 months.
Based on this advice, our expectation is that every chorister should have had at least one booster vaccination during 2024 and that for the relevant age group above, have a further booster (or boosters) during 2025 within the time frames listed. This is, of course, always subject to the advice of your GP/treating clinician.
2. Wearing of masks while singing at rehearsals is optional. As we get close to the concert, Mario will advise when wearing a mask during singing is no longer appropriate due to the impact masks have on the quality of our singing.
3. You must not attend if you have any respiratory or other Covid symptoms such as fever, runny nose, sore throat, cough, chills, shortness of breath or loss of sense of smell.
4. If you test Covid positive or are a close contact (household, workplace or social setting) of someone with Covid, you must not attend rehearsals until you are out of your infectious period (generally the later of cessation of symptoms or 5 days after testing +ve).

Playing different types of music files:
-
mp3 can be played directly, or downloaded and copied to other devices.
-
midi files (.mid) can be played directly, but will usually sound awful. You can obtain players for them that allow you to change the instruments used, the volume of each instrument, and the playback tempo.
ChoirPro's Sonja is a good player for IPad's. This link shows how to install.
-
Sibelius scorch files require a player that is available on Windows, Mac OSX.
